On May 15, the Chicago Japanese and Japanese American community gave a warm welcome to new Consul-General Masashi Mizobuchi at a reception sponsored by the Chicago Japanese American Council (CJAC).

Stacy Uchida Brown, board president of the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC), CJAC Chair Robert Hashimoto, and leaders of the CJAC organizations provided remarks and presented the Consul-General with a special gift: 100 Years: History of Japanese Americans in Chicago by Kazuo Ito, a commemorative book honoring the history and legacy of the community that still thrives today.

The room buzzed as guests enjoyed good company, delicious food and drinks, and heartfelt laughter that filled the space with warmth and camaraderie.
