日本語インストラクター募集!
JASC では小中高校生向けの日本語プログラム、どんぐり会の クラスのインストラクターを募集しています。2024-2025 年度の期間中、週に 1 回、60 分授業を担当していただきます。
【仕事内容】
● カリキュラムに沿った教材やプロジェクトの作成と準備
● 会話、理解、読み書き、発表、翻訳の技能を伸ばすための様々なアクティビティの実施
● 季節行事やイベントの計画・準備と引率
● 保護者や JASC スタッフと円滑なコミュニケーションの取りまとめ
● インストラクターミーティングへの参加
● JASC のイベント運営や広報への協力
【勤務条件】
● 就業期間: 2024 年 9 月から 2025 年 7 月末まで。次年度の継続も可能【必要なスキル・経験】
● アメリカでの合法就労可能
● 日本語と英語の両方が使えること(日本語の読み書き能力が必須)
● 資料作成、プレゼンテーション作成の経験

【報酬】
● 1 回の 60 分クラスごとに $60。この料金には、授業の準備時間、授業の実施、保護者やJASCとのコミュニケーション、どんぐりの先生ミーティング、およびその他の授業に関連する業務に充てた時間が全て含まれています。

Japanese Instructor Position

● JASC is currently seeking online and in person instructors for our Donguri Kai Japanese language program, targeting elementary, middle, and high school students. During the 2024-2025 academic year, instructors will be responsible for conducting classes once a week, each session lasting 60 minutes.

Job Description
● Creating and preparing materials and projects aligned with the curriculum
● Implementing various activities to enhance conversation, comprehension, reading, writing, presentation, and translation skills
● Planning, preparing for, and chaperoning seasonal events and activities
● Facilitating smooth communication with parents and JASC staff
● Participating in instructor meetings
● Assisting with JASC events and public relations

Work Conditions
● Location: In Person classes (at 5700 N Lincoln Ave beginning Fall 2024)
● Schedule: Once a week (60-minute sessions)
● Employment period: From September 2024 to the end of July 2025. Renewal for the following year is possible.

Required Skills & Experience
● Legally eligible to work in the United States
● Proficiency in both Japanese and English (proficient reading and writing skills in Japanese are essential)
● Experience with classroom document creation and presentation software
● Previous teaching experience is not required. We welcome candidates with experience working with children, volunteering, and a passion for teaching Japanese to kids.

Compensation
● $60 per 60-minute class session. This rate includes time for class preparation, class conduct, communication to parents and JASC, Donguri teacher’s meetings, and other class related activities.
● No benefits provided due to the independent contractor status

Employment Type: Part Time

Purpose: 

To help individuals remain safe and living independently in their homes. Responsible for assisting client in managing and maintaining a household, dressing, feeding and incidental household tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs home management tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and laundry, cleaning the refrigerator/stove, shopping and errands.
  2. Reports unsafe conditions, changes in the client’s physical or mental behavior or changes in the environment to the Home Support Services Manager.
  3. Escorts client to medical appointments when needed and as directed by Plan of Care.
  4. Completes activity sheets neatly and accurately by following the Plan of Care.
  5. Submits activity sheets to the Manager on a weekly basis.
  6. Demonstrates respect for the rights, dignity, and self worth of all clients, family members and co-workers at all times.
  7. Is flexible and innovative in all approaches at providing high quality of care.
  8. Assists self-directing client with meal preparation.
  9. Maintains satisfactory attendance.
  10. Completes all required annual in-service trainings.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Mental Demands: Job involves performing tasks under the direction and supervision of the Home Support Service Manager. Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in observing, recording and reporting data.

Physical Demands: Appreciable physical effort or strain. Moderately heavy activity, may include lifting up to 30 pounds, constant stooping and walking. Must be able to travel to client’s home and possibly assist client on public transportation from time to time.

Employment qualifications:

  1. Position requires H.S. Diploma, G.E.D., or one year of employment in a comparable human service capacity or experience in care for a dependent child or adult family member. 
  2. Applicant must pass a background and fingerprint check. 
  3. Successful completion of 24 hours of pre-service training offered by JASC. 
  4. Annual completion of 12 hours of in-service training to maintain employment.

Knowledge/Skill:

  1. Work experience with older adults, work hour flexibility and has personal integrity.  
  2. Possesses ability to follow written and oral instructions and accept constructive feedback.
  3. A basic knowledge of home management skills.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in English and if possible, additional languages.
