Serve, Preserve, Grow Campaign

Celebrating Our Legacy & Vision

The Serve, Preserve, Grow Campaign seeks to raise $4 million toward the $10 million investment JASC is making in its future. This Campaign marks a new chapter for JASC, one that is rooted in our history but focused on the future. The largest Campaign in JASC’s history, Serve, Preserve, Grow, marks a pivotal moment for JASC. It will empower our community’s next generation with crucial investments in our facility and programs.

Serve

With a large segment of the population aging, JASC identified a need to increase its capacity to provide services that support aging adults in maintaining a high quality of life. We care for these aging members of our community through our Adult Day Services (ADS) and Home Support Services (HSS) programs. Our new facility and increased capacity will allow us to serve more aging adults through our Adult Day Services program – doubling our capacity to 60 individuals.

Preserve

In the new building the Legacy Center will be able to accommodate an increased number of academic research requests and expand initiatives such as the Oral History and the Summer Internship Program, increase accessibility of its collection to the public, and increase programs for people of all ages focused on sharing Japanese American identity, culture, and language.

Grow

For more than 75 years, the dynamic spirit of JASC has come from the vision of our founders. Today, the same values guide us as JASC shapes its future through the Serve, Preserve, Grow Campaign. Thanks to your support, this Campaign will lay the foundation for the next 75 years and beyond. Allowing us to preserve our culture, care for our elders, and prepare our young people to succeed and thrive. We will facilitate new, lasting partnerships with other like-minded organizations and become a community center open to all. Our new forever home at 5700 N. Lincoln Ave in Chicago will serve as a destination and community center with a design that showcases Japanese culture, tradition, and community.
