JASC’s New Building

JASC’s New Building

JASC’s New Building

Located in the West Ridge neighborhood, 5700 N. Lincoln Ave will be the forever home of JASC.

Formerly a US Bank building, JASC purchased 5700 N. Lincoln Ave in December 2022. Since then, JASC has been working diligently to design a space that will be a destination that showcases Japanese American culture, history, and tradition.

Our new building will house our high-quality daycare programs for aging adults, feature one of the finest library collection of Japanese American history in Chicago, and provide enriching cultural programs. Our building will be one we will flourish and grow in, as we look to expand our presence in the community.

Building Features:

  • Open floor Adult Day Service areas with the ability to serve 65 clients
  • Increased square footage for Legacy Center Library
  • Additional support spaces for ADS, cultural exhibits, and programs
  • Collaborative second floor workspace for current and additional staff
  • Private parking lot

On February 2nd, 2024, JASC received our building permits to begin construction on 5700 N Lincoln Ave. Demolition began right away to break down walls and begin the first phase of the full interior gut renovation.

After a few short weeks of demolition, the construction crew began installing brand new HVAC systems. They were also able to begin framing new walls of the JASC floorplan. Check out March progress of the first floor, which will be the new home of Adult Day Services.

Following spring demotion, our construction crew has been working diligently to install brand new fire sprinkler systems, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.

We began exterior work as well, tuckpointing the exterior brick, installing new windows facing Lincoln Ave, and repairing the sewer line & catch basins underground.

With all interior systems installed, work began on cabinetry, tiling, & the outdoor lot. Our building is looking more and more complete by the day!
