JASC Hosts “Echoes of Hiroshima, A Survivor’s Story”

Earlier this month, JASC hosted Echoes of Hiroshima, A Survivor’s Story: Learning From the Past, Inspiring the Future, a presentation by Clinton Fairbanks sharing the story of Masakazu Saito, a survivor of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II.

Through Saito’s watercolor artwork and personal account, attendees learned about the horrors of the bombing, the challenges of survival, and Saito’s enduring message of peace. The presentation emphasized the importance of preserving survivors’ stories and raising awareness of the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons.

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, and attendees had the opportunity to view Saito’s artwork before and after the presentation.

JASC thanks Clinton Fairbanks for sharing Saito’s story and helping carry his message of peace to a new audience. We hope this experience inspires others to learn from the past and work toward a more peaceful future.

To learn more, Ninety Seconds Past Midnight features Saito’s artwork and story and is available for purchase on Amazon.
